The only constant in life is change | A move to Minneapolis

My mom used to say, "The only constant in life is change," and ain't that the truth the older you get?! ;)

It's been a little quiet around the blog these days, so I wanted to give you an update!

The 2 Week Phone Call

THIS WEEK, we moved back to Minnesota! You may have heard bits and pieces on social media, or chats in person but here's the whole story.

We'd lived in a townhouse and recently decided we wanted to rent a house instead. So, we asked our leasing office to find us a subleaser thinking it would happen maybe in September. Little did we know... it'd be a lot sooner than this fall that they would find someone!

On July 25th, (I repeat, July 25th!) I got a call asking if we could be out of our apartment by August 12th. Flying by the seat of our pants, we said yes not knowing when the next subleaser would come along. So we had two weeks to find a new place to live, pack, + move out.

AH!

Our immediate human reaction was to stress, but then we turned to prayer about our next steps. Most of our planning included staying in Appleton, finding a house to rent + calling it good! But God had other plans for us.

A phone call from a Minneapolis friend

Right after we prayed, Taylor got a call from a friend in Minneapolis. He said he'd just had lunch with a few guys from the church we used to go to (River Valley Church), and they felt Taylor would be an great fit for the position they were looking to fill. It included basically everything Taylor is passionate about, so it was a no brainer.

But to go from only moving a few miles to moving back to Minnesota in the next few weeks in the middle of wedding season?! In all of the crazy, we had a ton of peace about it all!

Fast forward two weeks

We made it! With a couple of weddings + engagements thrown in to the mix, we successfully packed up our townhouse and moved to a suburb of Minneapolis. This past week I've been in slight disbelief that it all happened. We arrived. It's all downhill from here, and the best part?!

Our internet finally gets installed on Monday and we can get back to work! I've seriously never been more excited! *We're currently back in Wisconsin for a wedding this weekend, and have WIFI which is bringing you this blog post. ;)

I had to go to the post office the other day and found out our little suburb had its own cute main street area! I love the convenience of the city (HEY, IKEA!) + also the small town feel of our neighborhood. Also love being far enough from downtown that we can leave our house from 3-7pm and not get stuck in traffic. :)

So there you have it.

Thank you so much for being patient in this time! I am so excited to get back on our regular feet + share all of what we've been hiding the past couple of weeks!

With love,

Ali Leigh

P.S. It's our sweet girl, Luna's 1st birthday today!

Don't let that grumpy face fool you, she's as sweet as they come and I'm so happy she joined our fam. :) Happy birthday, Looney Toons!
