audubon high school sweethearts' christmas wedding / hot chocolate bar, pine leaves, and pinecones / riley and rachel

Riley and Rachel's wedding was by far the coziest wedding yet of 2015 with pinecones, a hot chocolate bar, and pine leaves covering the head table. All year as I thought of their mid December wedding, I pictured snow. Lots and lots of snow because what else would it be like on December 12th?! 50 degrees with no snow?! Yes. We weren't complaining since we spent some time outside taking pictures and froze even in the 45-50 degree weather ;). The aesthetics of Christmas win my heart every time.. I ADORE the colors + materials and they were everywhere at their wedding. Loved. It.

Riley and Rachel are high school sweethearts and got married in their hometown of Audubon, IA. Think small town Iowa with such charm on their main street, and you've got Audubon. The two let balloons go for their loved ones who've passed away and couldn't make it and there's no doubt they were definitely there celebrating these two. I hid my tears behind my camera SO many times during this wedding.. when the two saw each other for the first time + cried in the greatest hug, when Riley wiped his tears after their ceremony watching Rachel hug his family, and when Rachel's dad talked about his love for his daughter + how much he respects his new son. The people at this wedding were just as great as all of the little details. Oh, and special appearance of Rachel's family exchange student playing the electric guitar at the reception ;). He was amazing!! Here's a glimpse into Riley and Rachel's day!

xoxo, Ali
